Guus Herremans and Ward Dhoore are familiar names in the contemporary acoustic music scene, having performed with award-winning bands and diverse projects over the past decade, often crossing paths along the way.

Both were selected by classical radio Klara for De Twintigers, which highlights talented musicians in their twenties. Now, they celebrate their long-standing friendship on stage as Thalas.

In late 2025, Thalas released its debut album As It Comes to widespread critical acclaim and enthusiastic audience response. The record earned them, among other distinctions, a nomination for the Preis der deutschen Schallplattenkritik (German Record Critics’ Award) and the award for Best Album at the Flanders Folk Awards 2026.
